In life we talk about a journey and the steps one takes to reach a spiritual destination. Enjoying this journey is vital to every persons overall sense of happiness however we seldom reflect on the times that were not so good and life lessons learned from there. It was in one of South Africa’s addiction rehabilitation centres which saw the end of one part of my personal journey and the beginning of a new one.

I have grown so much as a person over the past few years accepted the things I cannot change and have begun taking the first steps of my forgiveness of myself and others in the path of healing.

Addiction in my case was a symptom / end product of a lifelong path of self destruction that I firmly believed I was set to follow. By divine intervention I landed up in recovery and managed to pull through with some semblance of my spirit intact, but that’s not enough to make it.

This blog is about making it every day.
